This Melange Dark Cinnamon Bergschaf wool felts quickly into a dense, durable felt.
Melange means a blend of several carefully selected fiber colors. The shades are blended so that the fibers support one another during felting, helping the wool felt quickly, evenly and reliably.
It holds its shape well and is especially suitable for firm, durable felted items such as slippers, shoes, bags, rugs, sauna hats, pet beds, toys, firm accessories and structural felt objects.
Suitable for wet felting, needle felting, hand spinning and rug weaving. Forgiving for beginners, useful in workshops and reliable for professional felt makers.
Made for BureBure felting work
This is the same wool we use at BureBure — carded specially for our studio and workshops, not simply resold from another producer. We originally made this wool for our own work, because we needed a material that felts reliably and shapes well.
Color and dyeing
The color was created by BureBure founder Inga. Dyeing can slightly reduce wool’s natural felting ability, so the shades were carefully developed and blended to keep the wool easy to felt.
The wool is dyed in an EU factory according to EU standards. It may bleed slightly during felting, especially in warm water, but once the felt is finished and rinsed, it should not transfer color during normal use.
Wool form
This Bergschaf wool comes as carded wool batts, not combed tops. The fibers are open, airy and arranged in different directions, which helps them grip each other quickly during felting.

About Bergschaf wool
Bergschaf wool comes from Alpine sheep traditionally raised in the Tyrol region. Their wool is naturally strong, practical and valued more for durability and function than for fine softness.
It is not the best choice for very delicate, thin or soft items such as fine scarves, light clothing or gentle next-to-skin accessories. It is a practical wool — colorful, strong and ideal for solid felt.
Packaging
For shipping, we compress the wool as much as possible to reduce parcel size, but we do not vacuum-pack it. After unpacking, the wool loosens up again and becomes airy and ready to use.
Packages up to 500 g are wrapped in paper and include a wool amount chart showing how much wool is needed to felt a pair of shoes in different sizes. Larger quantities are packed without paper wrapping and come as bigger wool batts.
