Made to Order
Almost everything we make at BureBure is made to order. This means that your slippers, boots, sauna hat or felted accessory is usually made only after your order is placed.
We do not mass-produce and we do not keep large stocks of finished products. We make by hand, in small quantities, with natural wool and carefully chosen materials. This helps us avoid overproduction, waste and unsold products that would later need to be stored, discounted, discarded or destroyed.
How long does it take?
Feltmaking is a slow handcraft. Wool needs water, soap, pressure, movement and time. A handmade felted item cannot be rushed like a factory-made product.
Most orders take at least 1–2 weeks to make before shipping. Some custom pieces, group orders or special projects may take longer. If you need your order by a specific date, please contact us before placing the order or write to us through the chat as soon as possible.
Ready to Ship items
Sometimes you may see an item marked as Ready to Ship. These are rare exceptions.
Ready to Ship pieces are usually finished items that stayed with us because we made a good product, but chose the wrong colour, sole, size or detail for the original order. These items are usually one of a kind: one exact size, one exact colour and one exact version.
If a product is not clearly marked as Ready to Ship, please assume it will be made after your order is placed.
Need something sooner?
If you need an item earlier than our usual making time, please contact us through the chat before ordering. We cannot always promise a rush order, because every item still has to be properly handmade, but we will tell you honestly what is possible.
Changes and custom details
If you would like to change a colour, sole, detail or size, please contact us through the chat. Many small changes are possible, but they should be discussed before we start making your order.
For footwear, you can ask about different soles, colours or special sizing. For sauna hats and accessories, you can ask about names, logos, colours or other personal details.
Completely custom orders
We also make custom felted pieces for special projects. Please contact us if you need something made for a designer collection, sauna event, wedding, company gift, historical reenactment, living history project, museum, theatre, film or festival.
We can discuss felted footwear, sauna hats, historical hats, felt helmets, vests, leg warmers and other felted items. If you have drawings, reference images or historical sources, please send them to us through the chat or by email.
Group orders
We welcome group orders for families, sauna communities, sports clubs, companies, historical groups and events.
For example, sauna lovers may order personalized sauna hats for the whole group. Families may choose hats with individual names. Companies may order handmade slippers as gifts for team members. Historical reenactment groups may ask for felted items for a specific period, costume or battle reconstruction.
Because everything is handmade, we cannot offer very large discounts like mass-production brands. However, if your group order is quite similar in design and quantity, we will always check what discount is realistically possible.
